
After graduating from the University of Michigan in 1985, Julie began her legal career working for a small Chicago litigation firm specializing in personal injury and consumer class actions. In 1991 she graduated from IIT Chicago-Kent College of Law where she was inducted into the Order of the Coif. She received multiple honors in scholarship, moot court and legal writing, including serving as a teaching assistant in Kent’s nationally recognized legal writing program. During the course of her litigation practice she taught at DePaul University College of Law as an Adjunct Professor in both Advanced Torts and Legal Drafting. In 1995 she joined the National Legal Research Group as the sole founding member of Illinois Legal Research. ILR provided legal research and writing services to attorneys throughout Illinois. Julie has spoken at the annual meeting of the ISBA and co-authored articles for the ISBA Journal and chapters in IICLE practice manuals.

Julie M. Bordo, LLC also has extensive experience in commercial transactions; drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts on behalf of business and corporate clients. This includes major distributorship agreements with national corporations, agency and employment contracts, media and promotional agreements, web policies and sweepstakes rules, operating agreements, leases, mediation and arbitration agreements, among other transactions.
